Spartans pick up Illini Prairie Conference win over St. Thomas More

Ty Pence popped in a game-high 30 points on Tuesday (Jan. 24) as St. Joseph-Ogden blitzed St. Thomas More, 59-28, in an Illini Prairie Conference boys’ basketball game in Champaign.
Pence hit four three-point shots and also pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
Tanner Jacob added eight points and connected on two three-point attempts.
Logan Smith added five points and contributed a team-high four assists.
McGwire Atwood and Smith grabbed four rebounds apiece.
SJ-O (17-4) takes a three-game winning streak into back-to-back home games this weekend. The Spartans play host to Monticello on Friday (Jan. 27) and then they entertain Westville on Saturday (Jan. 28).
Pence needs 51 points to break the school’s all-time career scoring record.
