Vermilion Valley Conference rival Cissna Park defeats Oakwood

Addie Wright tallied a season-high 26 points on Monday (Jan. 23), but Oakwood came up on the short end of a 66-46 score at home in a girls’ basketball game against Vermilion Valley Conference rival Cissna Park.
The visitors took a 34-20 halftime lead. With Wright making nine of her points in the third quarter, the Comets pulled within a 45-34 score entering the final frame.
Cherokee Hanner contributed eight points and Jaydah Arrowsmith tossed in six points.
Oakwood (13-13) returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 26) at home against Westville.
