Spartans defeat Rantoul at home

Taylor Hug scored 12 points – all in the second half – on Monday (Jan. 30) as the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team topped Rantoul, 53-23, at home.
The win was the sixth in the row for the Spartans, who reached the .500 mark for the first time since the season’s second game.
Addie Seggebruch tallied 10 points. Timera Blackburn-Kelley and Katie Ericksen each added eight points.
Hug netted four of the team’s eight three-point shots. Blackburn-Kelley downed two of the shots. Finishing with one three-pointer apiece were Addie Brooks and Kaytlyn Baker.
SJ-O (13-13) returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 2) at Tolono Unity.
