Heritage celebrated Eighth-Grade Night on Tuesday (Feb. 7) by edging Catlin, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21, at Homer.
“All 11 athletes got into this game and contributed to the win,” Heritage coach Ryan Fitzgerald said.
The team’s eighth-graders are Ashlyn Barkley, Lillie Bishop, Erika Bonilla, Brianna Day, Addison Hopper, Isabella Pierce, Breanna Ploense, Brooklyn Powell, Makenna Roedl, Jayden Schrock and Haylee Shaffer.
The Heritage seventh-graders were beaten by Catlin, 26-24, 25-12.
On Thursday (Feb. 9), the Heritage eighth-graders posted a sweep at Schlarman Academy, 25-22, 25-11.
The eighth-graders are 13-6 and have won eight of their last 10 matches.
In the seventh-grade match at Schlarman, Heritage dropped a three-set decision, 25-9, 22-25, 25-20. Their season record is 4-11.
Heritage returns to action on Friday (Feb. 17) at home against Bement.
