Panthers finish in top 8 of IESA Class 3A

St. Joseph’s seventh-grade girls’ volleyball team ended the season as one of the top eight teams in the IESA Class 3A state tournament.
The Panthers dropped their state quarterfinal match on Friday (March 10), suffering a 25-20, 25-9 loss to Pleasant Plains in the tourney hosted by Warrensburg-Latham.
Megan Kearney led St. Joseph with six service points and two aces. Teammates Brooklyn Stevens and Raegan Wheatley each added two service points.
The seventh-graders, coached by Jill Lubinski, finish the season with an 18-5 overall record. Pleasant Plains (24-6) placed third at state.

The St. Joseph eighth-grade volleyball team was beaten in the championship match of their own Class 3A regional, losing to second-seeded Westville, 25-18, 25-23, on Thursday (March 9).
St. Joseph (20-5) was the regional’s No. 1 seed. Westville (21-0) won a sectional title and has qualified for the state quarterfinals.
The Panthers were coached by Abby McDonald.
Squad members were Lily Ahart, Lizzie Clark, Abby Crider, Hayden Dahl, Iris Davis, Madison Farber, Leyah Griffin, Maggie Hewkin, Morgan Huls, Brynn Ikemire, Alivia Learned, Hadley McDonald, Kiah Riesel, Sophie Schmitz and Addi Stevens.
