The Heritage Hawks hit a season’s high for runs scored on Wednesday (March 29), but dropped an 11-9 softball decision at Urbana.
Heritage scored five runs in the top of the first inning and held the lead until the third inning, when Urbana shot ahead, 8-5.
However, in their next turn at-bat, the Hawks scored four more runs and regained the lead, 9-8. The Tigers then scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 9-9 deadlock and salvage the win.
Heritage (0-3) returns to action on Monday (April 3) at Argenta-Oreana.
