Heritage’s 3,200-m places second at Tuscola

Runners on the Heritage 3,200-meter relay combined for a second-place finish on Thursday (March 30) in a six-school boys’ track and field meet at Tuscola.
Teaming up for a time of 9 minutes, 46.03 seconds were Cohen Sands, Hunter Montgomery, Rowan Denmark-Collins and Zach Ruwe.
The Hawks had four athletes garner top-five finishes in individual events.
Ruwe took fourth in the 800 meters (2:14.39) and Eli Denmark-Collins was fourth in the 1,600 meters (personal-best 5:37.55).
Winding up in fifth place were teammates Rowan Denmark-Collins (2:20.67 in the 800 meters) and Montgomery (12:40.03 in the 3,200 meters).
Heritage totaled 20 points and finished sixth in the six-school meet. The team winner was Salt Fork with 182 points.
The Hawks return to action on Monday (April 10) at Hoopeston Area.
