Oakwood baseball shuts out Heritage

Sophomore Bryson Marcinko pitched a one-hit shutout on Thursday (March 30) as Oakwood earned an 18-0 win over Heritage in Broadlands.
Marcinko walked one batter and struck out seven.
Grant Powell had three hits for the Comets. Dalton Hobick and Marcinko each collected two hits.
Joshua Ruch knocked in four runs as did Chase Harrison, who cracked a home run. Hobick and Powell each had two RBI.
Ruch scored three runs. Hobick, Marcinko and Matthew Miller each tallied two runs.
Hobick swiped four bases and Powell stole two bases.
On Wednesday (March 29), Hobick picked up the win as Oakwood won at home over Marshall, 11-4.
In six innings on the mound, he permitted three hits, walked two and fanned eight hitters.
Travis Tiernan provided a spark for the offense with three hits and three runs batted in. Hobick and Ruch each delivered two hits.
Ruch and Miller both posted two RBI. Hobick and Powell each stole two bases.
The Comets (5-2-1) return to action on Monday (April 3) at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
