SJ-O baseball wins first Illini Prairie Conference game

Tanner Jacob and Luke Landrus each bashed three hits on Thursday (March 30) as St. Joseph-Ogden opened its Illini Prairie Conference baseball schedule with a 6-2 win at St. Thomas More.
Adam Price drove in four runs. Finishing with three RBI apiece were Landrus and Nolan Earley. Earley socked a double and a home run. Landrus drilled a double and a triple.
Coy Taylor, who pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief in his first outing of the spring, registered a double and a triple among his two hits. Landrus and Taylor each tallied three runs.
Maddux Carter also ended with two hits, including a double.
Caleb Ochs picked up the pitching win. He worked 4 2/3 innings, walking no one and striking out eight.
SJ-O (5-3) returns to action on Monday (April 3) at Bloomington Central Catholic.
