Mock and Reed-Thompson place second at Rantoul

Two St. Joseph-Ogden athletes placed second individually on Tuesday (April 4) in a five-school girls’ track and field meet at Rantoul.
Hannah Mock was the 800-meter runner-up (2 minutes, 45.57 seconds) and Macy Reed-Thompson was second in the high jump (4 feet, 5 inches).
Other team leaders were Ally Schmitz (fourth in the 300 hurdles in 55.43 seconds and seventh in the 100 hurdles in 19.50), Lyla Frerichs (fifth in the 300 hurdles in 57.03 and sixth in the 100 hurdles in 19.35) and Sophia Kasper (seventh in the 800 meters in 2:54.74).
Danville was the meet champion, accumulating 214 points. SJ-O was fifth with 32 points.
SJ-O returns to action on Saturday (April 8) at the Champaign County Meet, at Urbana.
