Acton and Martinie lead Spartans over Rantoul

Alyssa Acton fired a complete game and Addy Martinie cracked three hits, including a home run, on Thursday (April 6) as St. Joseph-Ogden handled Rantoul, 12-2, in an Illini Prairie Conference softball game at Randy Wolken Field.
SJ-O recovered from a 2-0 first-inning deficit.
Martinie knocked in three runs.
Teammates Addison Frick and Peyton Jones each scored three runs along with Martinie. Immke tallied two runs.
Acton allowed five hits in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
On Saturday (April 8), Timera Blackburn-Kelley tossed a complete game, yielding six hits, walking no one and striking out six in five innings. Her season record is 4-1.
Martinie was 4-for-4 with five RBI. Frick was 3-for-4 and Immke was 2-for-4. A two-run homer by Immke in the first inning provided the Spartans a lead they never lost. Martinie blasted two doubles and a home run.
Frick, Immke and Martinie all scored three runs. Jones tallied two runs.
For the season, Martinie has 34 RBI. Both Immke and Martinie have slugged eight home runs. Immke is hitting .692 for the season with 22 of her 27 hits going for extra bases. Martinie has a .575 batting average and has 15 extra-base hits among her 23 hits.
SJ-O (7-5) returns to action on Monday (April 10) at home against Stanford Olympia.
