Wilson, Tate and Paul place in top 10 at Champaign County girls’ track and field meet

Heritage’s Madi Wilson placed 10th on Saturday (April 10) in 400-meter dash at the 10-school Champaign County girls’ track and field meet at Urbana High School.
Her time was a personal-best 1 minute, 13.55 seconds. She was the lone Heritage athlete to achieve a personal-best in the meet.
Three Hawks captured sixth-place finishes in field events.
Loran Tate achieved two of the placements, in the long jump (14 feet, 6 inches) and the triple jump (28 feet, 5 inches).
Also ending in sixth was shot putter Adena Paul (29 feet, 4 inches).
Two other runners wound up among the top 20.
Tate was 18th in the 200 meters (30.44 seconds), an event with 43 contestants.
Bailee Lubben ended 14th in the 400 meters (1:21.08).
Two Heritage relays also fared well.
The 400-meter foursome of Tate, Wilson, Alex Tatman and Savanah Gilliland took seventh in 1:00.27.
The 1,600-meter unit of Lubben, Tatman, Gilliland and Wilson finished eighth in 5:12.15.
There were no team scores at the County meet.
Heritage will return to action on Monday (April 10) at Hoopeston Area.
