Aubri Elliott leads Comets at Invitational in Catlin

Sophomore Aubri Elliott was the top individual placer for Oakwood in the Tuesday (April 11) Salt Fork girls’ track and field invitational in Catlin.
Elliott ran fifth in the 300-meter hurdles. Teammate Quinn Sperry placed sixth in the discus.
The Comets had three relays that secured finishes among the top six.
The 800-meter relay finished fourth and the 400-meter relay took sixth. Both units featured the same runners: Taylor Smoot, Luci Morris, Taylor Jett and Elliott.
Oakwood’s 1,600-meter relay also ended in sixth place. The runners were Smoot, Cassie Fugate, Alyssa Wells and Elliott.
In the team standings, Danville was victorious with 149 points. Oakwood was 12th with nine points.
The Comets will return to action on Friday (April 14) in the Unity Invitational, in Tolono.
