Hoopeston Area edges past Oakwood softball

Audrey Schnaus drove in three runs on Monday (April 17), but the Oakwood softball team was edged at home by Hoopeston Area, 7-6.
Lacey Harrison collected two of the Comets’ six hits. Gracie Hanner drew two walks.
Reliever Gracie Enos worked the final four innings and recorded five strikeouts. She took the loss.
On Tuesday (April 18), the Comets dropped a 12-5 decision at Covington, Ind.
Harrison socked two of the Comets’ eight hits while Hanner knocked in two runs. Oakwood scored four of its runs in the top of the first inning.
Caydence Vermillion pitched one scoreless inning of relief for the Comets.
Oakwood (5-14) returns to action on Thursday (April 20) at Heritage.
