Comet baseball on four-game win streak

Oakwood capitalized on big innings to post wins on back-to-back days, extending their baseball winning streak to four games.
On Tuesday (April 25), an 11-run first inning helped the Comets dispatch North Vermillion (Ind.) at home, 16-0.
On Wednesday (April 26), a six-run fourth inning was the spark for a 7-1 victory at Paris.
Bryson Myers drove in three runs against North Vermillion. Josh Ruch had three RBI against Paris.
Brody Taflinger threw the shutout against North Vermillion, scattering three hits, walking no one and striking out a season-high eight strikeouts.
Scoring two runs apiece against North Vermillion were Ruch, Bryson Marcinko, Dalton Hobick, Matthew Miller, Chase Harrison and Taflinger.
Against Paris, Alec Harrison allowed just one hit in 4 2/3 innings, but walked seven and struck out seven. Grant Powell closed out the win by throwing the final 2 1/3 innings. He walked three and fanned two.
Hobick and Ruch each delivered two hits. Cort Vermillion tallied two runs.
Oakwood (16-4-1) returns to action on Friday (April 28) at Cissna Park.
