Maroa-Forsyth ends SJ-O baseball 15-game win streak

The winning streak for the St. Joseph-Ogden baseball team came to an end after 15 games on Friday (April 28) with an 8-4 loss at Meier Field to Maroa-Forsyth.

The Spartans were limited to five hits, including two by Maddux Carter. Carter and Luke Landrus each knocked in two runs for SJ-O.

On Thursday (April 27), SJ-O stymied visiting Charleston, 10-5.

Kendrick Johnson pitched the first four innings and snared the win. He walked five and stuck out four. Coy Taylor picked up the save with three innings of scoreless relief. He walked three and fanned two.

Charles Voorhees sparked the offensive attack, finishing 4-for-4 with two RBI. Landrus registered two hits and three RBI. Nolan Earley bagged two hits and Carter tallied two runs.

SJ-O (21-5) returns to action on Monday (May 1) at Monticello.
