Spartan softball on a 10-game win streak after win at Mahomet-Seymour

St. Joseph-Ogden’s softball team extended its winning streak to 10 games on Thursday (April 27) by rallying from a 6-2 sixth-inning deficit at Mahomet-Seymour to topple the Bulldogs, 13-6.
The Spartans scored 11 runs in the sixth inning.
Addison Frick pounded three hits to lead the way. Teammates with two hits apiece were Alyssa Acton, Shayne Immke, Peyton Jones and Addy Martinie.
Immke and Martinie both crashed home runs. Immke is the state leader (for all classes) with 17 homers this year. Acton, Immke and Martinie all drove in two runs.
Frick tallied three runs. Timera Blackburn-Kelley scored two runs as did Martinie.
Reliever Madison Stevens (4-0) earned the win. She pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out three batters.
SJ-O (19-7) returns to action on Monday (May 1) at Monticello.
