Toledo Cumberland outlasts Heritage baseball
By Fred Kroner
Toledo Cumberland broke a 2-2 deadline by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on Monday (May 1) and dealt visiting Heritage a 5-2 baseball loss.
Anthony Happ had one of the Hawks’ three hits and drove in two runs. Rylan White and Brennon Struck also poked a hit for Heritage. Destin Nickle and Struck (who stole two bases) also scored runs.
Robert Holloman pitched 5 2/3 innings and suffered the loss. He walked two and struck out a season-high eight batters. He was relieved by Happ, who needed just one pitch to end the inning.
Heritage (2-15) returns to action on Friday (May 5) at home against Villa Grove.
