Heritage 3,200 relay places first at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.

The Heritage 3,200-meter relay continues to fare well, placing first on Tuesday (May 9) in a six-school boys’ track and field meet at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
The grouping of Aidan Ashbrook, Cohen Sands, Rowan Denmark-Collins and Zach Ruwe was timed in 9 minutes, 1.27 seconds.
Those same four runners joined forces for a runner-up finish in the 1,600-meter relay. Their composite time was 3:49.46.
The Hawks had a 1-2 finish in the 3,200 meters from Hunter Montgomery (12:57.94) and Joshua Stierwalt (12:59.38).
Four of the other five Hawks who captured top-12 finishes achieved personal-best times, including Ashbrook in the 400 meters (seventh in 58.29 seconds).
Timmy Wilson finished 11th out of 27 runners in the 100 meters (personal-best 12.18 seconds).
Also posting their top times were 1,600-meter runners Stierwalt (10th in 5:51.41) and Daniel McKinney (11th in 5:54.35).
Denmark-Collins collected a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters (2:19.90).
Heritage finished fifth in the team standings with 38 points. The meet champion was Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin with 174 points.
Heritage will return to action on Friday (May 19) in the 18-school Westville Class 1A Sectional.
