PV-O 400 meter teams shine at IESA State meet

Prairieview Ogden’s eighth-grade boys’ 400-meter relay captured a fourth-place finish on Saturday (May 13) in the IESA Class 1A state track and field meet at the Eastside Centre, in East Peoria.
The foursome consisted of Kaden Wedig, Garrett Loschen, Jack Wear and Aiden Hundley. Their combined time was 50.32 seconds.
Individually, Wear collected a fifth-place medal in the 110-meter hurdles (17.25 seconds).
Hundley was a two-event state participant and finished sixth in the 800 meters (personal-best 2:16.15) and 12th in the discus (100 feet 7 inches).
Wedig achieved a personal-best in the 400 meters (56.76 seconds) and captured eighth place.
The Mustangs’ other individual qualifier was Loschen, who was 12th in the high jump (5 feet, 1 inch).
PVO took 16th in the team standings at state with 13 points.

Prairieview Ogden’s seventh-grade boys’ track and field team received a fifth-place finish at state from its 400-meter relay.
The unit consisted of Logan Wedig, Jebb Aden, Lucas Waters and Royce Loschen. They turned in a time of 54.30 seconds.
Waters recorded the Mustangs’ top individual finish, ending seventh in the shot put (personal-best 32 feet, 8 inches).
Aden took eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (19.27 seconds) and Loschen reached a personal-best 13 feet, 8 ½ inches in the long jump and was 13th.
As a team, PVO totaled seven points and placed in a tie for 22nd.
