Christian Paul wins at Paris Mayo Meet

Eighth-grader Christian Paul was the individual winner for Heritage Junior High in the school’s season-opening boys’ cross-country meet at Paris Mayo on Tuesday (Aug. 15).
Paul’s 2-mile time was 12 minutes and 5 seconds. There were 22 runners in the race.
Teammate Owen Elmore was timed in 18:03 in the first meet.
On Saturday (Aug. 19), Paul was third overall among 97 entries in the eighth-grade boys in the Saber Corn Race at Champaign St. Matthew. His time was 11:44. Elmore’s time was 18:07 and he was 68th in the race for seventh-grade boys.
Heritage is scheduled to return to action on Saturday (Aug. 26) at the Paris Mayo Invitational.
