Heritage boys’ cross country finishes fifth at Doc Acklin Invite

Led by three top-20 runners, the Heritage boys’ cross-country team brought home a fifth-place finish in the 13-school Doc Acklin Memorial on Saturday (Aug.25).
Freshman Clark Roland finished seventh in an event that drew 119 competitors. His 3-mile time was 17 minutes, 59.8 seconds.
Teammates Aidan Ashbrook (18:52.2) and Eli Denmark-Collins (18:54.7) were 17th and 18th respectively.
Other team leaders were Cohen Sands (46th in 20:24.0), Hunter Montgomery (58th in 21:02.6) and Joshua Stierwalt (59th in 21:04.2).
Meet champion St. Joseph-Ogden accumulated 39 points. Runner-up Toledo Cumberland had 98 points. Fifth-place Heritage had 134 points.
The Hawks return to action on Saturday (Sept. 2) in the Chrisman Cowchip Classic.
