Juniors Thomas Wells and Brayden Edwards were the leaders for Oakwood/Salt Fork on Saturday (Aug. 25) in the team’s season-opening boys’ cross-country meet.

Wells ran ninth in an 88-runner field with a time of 18 minutes, 22.4 seconds. Edwards finished in 22^nd (20:01.2).

Other team leaders were Connor Smith (58^th in 22:59.6), Ben Darling (61^st in 23:15.8), Alex Wells (65^th in 23:36.0) and Logan Henthorn (67^th in 23:44.7).

Tolono Unity (37 points) edged Urbana Uni High (40 points) for team supremacy in the seven-school field. Oakwood/Salt Fork placed seventh with 156 points.

The Comets return to action on Saturday (Sept. 2) in the Cowchip Classic, at Chrisman.
