Rossville-Alvin defeats Heritage baseball

The Heritage junior high baseball team suffered a tough-luck 8-7 loss on Monday (Aug. 28) at Rossville-Alvin.
Heritage took a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning before the Bobcats rallied to grab the win. All three of the late R-A runs were unearned.
Christian Paul pitched the first six innings for Heritage and struck out 13 batters. He allowed five hits, two walks and two earned runs.
Paul also scored two runs and belted a run-scoring triple.
Landin McComas also tallied two runs. Colby Schrock contributed two RBI. Nathaniel Ely stole four bases.
On Tuesday (Aug. 29), Heritage lost a 12-2 decision at Bismarck-Henning.
Heritage took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Ely and McComas crossed home plate. Ely’s single was the team’s only hit in the game.
McComas swiped two bases and Schrock delivered one RBI.
Heritage (0-5) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 31) at Homer against Jamaica.
