St. Joseph-Ogden won all six singles matches in straight sets on Monday (Aug. 28) and cruised past Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, 8-1, in a dual meet at the Atkins Tennis Center, in Champaign.
The Spartans’ winners were Addison Seggebruch (6-1, 6-3 at No. 1); Addison Ross (6-1, 6-1 at No. 2), Lily Rice (6-3, 6-0 at No. 3), Lauren Lannert (6-3, 6-1 at No. 4), Olivia Getty (6-0, 6-0 at No. 5) and Samantha Kelso (6-2, 6-0 at No. 6).
The SJ-O doubles winners were MaKennah Hamilton and Emma Thurman (6-0, 6-3 at No. 2) and Sara Kearney and Ainsley Rhoten (6-2, 6-2 at No. 3).
SJ-O (1-2) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 31) at Watseka.
