Hawks place fifth at Altamont Volleyball Invitational

The Heritage Hawks bounced back from a slow start on Saturday (Sept. 2) and won the fifth-place match in the Altamont Volleyball Invitational.
In pool play, Heritage lost to Nokomis (21-11, 21-12) and then tied both Vandalia (21-16, 17-21) and Altamont (21-15, 23-25).
The Hawks then topped Greenville (25-13, 21-25, 15-8) and topped Vandalia in the fifth-place match (25-12, 20-25, 15-11).
For the day, Mary Roland contributed 98 assists, 15 digs, seven service aces, three kills and one block.
Riley Miller posted 39 kills, four digs, three aces and one block while teammate Loran Tate added 26 kills and three blocks.
Addi Hopper collected 33 digs, two aces and one assist while teammate Gracie Tate chipped in with 17 digs, 12 kills and two aces.
Lilli Montgomery recorded 28 digs, eight aces and one assist. Hawk Destanee Morgan notched 21 digs, 16 kills and one ace.
Bailee Lubben ended with 15 digs and one assist. Teammate Madi Wilson finished with 11 kills and one dig.
Faith Latham wound up with three aces and three digs. Kamryn Soard registered one kill.
Heritage (6-2-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 5) at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin.
