PVO baseball defeats Gifford

Jameson Ehler picked up a pitching win, drove in four runs and stole two bases on Thursday (Aug. 31) as the Prairieview Ogden baseball team won at Gifford 6-3.
In his 4 1/3-inning stint, Ehler permitted three hits and two walks. He struck out eight hitters.
At the plate, He was 2-for-4 and also scored a run.
Lane McKinney tallied three runs and Logan Wedig scored once. McKinney and Kavin VanEtta each had an RBI. Van Etta swiped two bases.
On Friday (Sept. 1), PVO dropped a 7-3 decision at St. Joseph in a game where each school permitted just one earned run.
Casen Goff had two hits for the Mustangs. Wedig, Ehler and VanEtta had one hit apiece. Lane McKinney, Ehler and George Hale all scored one run.
Wedig pitched five innings and scattered three hits. He issued four walks and fanned two but did not allow an earned run.
On Tuesday (Sept. 5), PVO scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to recover from a 3-2 deficit en route to a 9-3 triumph over Westville.
Ehler and Goff each delivered two-run singles in the fifth inning. Van Etta, Lucas Waters and Wedig each had one RBI in the inning.
Van Etta, who stole home earlier in the game, finished with two hits. Goff also collected two hits. Both Goff and Ehler totaled two RBI. Lane McKinney stole two bases and crossed home plate twice.
Ehler pitched the first four innings, walking two and fanning six. Lane McKinney picked up the win in relief. He walked two and struck out four.
PVO (9-2) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 7) at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
