Xander Wilson and Nathan Young each cracked solo home runs on Thursday (Aug. 31), but Oakwood dropped a 5-4 decision in a junior high baseball game at Westville.

The winning run scored in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Wilson and Young each finished with two hits. Wilson’s other hit was a triple.

A double by Keaton Pratt accounted for Oakwood’s other hit.

Wilson also pitched the first 5 2/3 innings and struck out 22 batters while walking just one.

Oakwood (2-6) returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 6) at Rossville-Alvin.
