Cafarelli places seventh at Champaign County boys’ golf tournament

Senior Ashten Cafarelli placed seventh individually for St. Joseph-Ogden and earned all-County honors on Monday (Sept. 11) at the Champaign County boys’ golf tournament at Lake of the Woods.

Cafarelli fired an 80.

SJ-O had a team composite of 350 and finished fifth in the seven-school invitational.

The Spartans’ other scorers were Asher Pruemer (88), Talan Miller (90), Ty Buss (92), Devin Swisher (97) and Trevor Ames (100).

On Tuesday (Sept. 12), Spartans Cafarelli, Miller, Buss and Pruemer participated in an event at Indian Springs Golf Course, in Saybrook. The format was a scramble for holes 1-3, best ball for holes 4-6 and combined team score for holes 7-9.

The meet champion was LeRoy, followed by Tri-Valley and third-place SJ-O.

SJ-O (6-2) returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 16) at the Paris Invitational.
