Ethan Merritt’s third hat trick of the season on Thursday (Sept. 14) propelled the Oakwood/Salt Fork soccer team to a 9-0 victory on the road against Schlarman Academy.
The Comets held a 38-0 edge on total shots.
Other Oakwood/Salt Fork goal-scorers were Jacob Pricer, Thomas Wells, Cooper McRae, Macen Phillips, Saul Carrillo and Brody Taflinger.
Phillips and Taflinger each assisted on three scores. Cooper Myers had one assist as did Wells.
Grant Brewer was in goal for the comets’ fifth shutout of the season.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (6-6-1) returns to action on Monday (Sept. 18) at St. Thomas More.
