Christian Paul wins Three Rivers Conference meet

Heritage eighth-grader Christian Paul was the individual winner on Saturday (Sept. 16) in the Three Rivers Conference junior high boys’ cross-country meet at Chrisman.
Paul ran away from the field, recording a 2-mile time of 11 minutes and 9 seconds, which was 1 minute and 24 seconds ahead of his closest pursuer.
Heritage had one other boys’ entry. Owen Elmore finished 26th in 17:56.
Heritage did not have enough boys to be scored as a team.
On the girls’ side, Heritage captured team honors with 15 points. Three of its athletes secured top-10 finishes.
Individually, eighth-grader Reaghan Stierwalt was the runner-up in 14 minutes and 36 seconds. Teammates following her were Rylen Stierwalt (seventh in 15:46), Rhorie Stierwalt (10th in 16:05), Gwen Keely (15th in 17:11) and Kimber Sands (18th in 17:56).
Heritage returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 26) in the Champaign County Invitational at Tolono Unity East.
