Peyton Curry-Varner scored 20 points on Monday (Sept. 21) for Heritage in the eighth-grade girls’ basketball season-opener, a 31-20 triumph over Philo St. Thomas.
Reaghan Stierwalt and Kaylee Junglas each chipped in with four points. The other three points were scored by Violet Chesnut.
The Heritage seventh-graders also produced a win in Game 1, knocking off Philo St. Thomas,32-25.
Junglas netted a team-high 18 points. Addison Fleming made 10 points. Totaling two points apiece were Scarlett Eslinger and Alisha Alrawahna.
Heritage (1-0) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 21) at Gifford against Armstrong-Potomac.
