Heritage volleyball defeats Tri-County in two sets

Mary Roland dished out 25 assists on Tuesday (Sept. 19) and Heritage volleyball teammate Lilli Montgomery collected 13 digs as the Hawks dropped Tri-County, 25-14, 25-20, in Broadlands.
Roland also produced six digs, four service aces and one block. Montgomery served one ace.
Loran Tate (nine kills) and Riley Miller (seven kills) were the offensive catalysts. They each added two digs and Tate served up one ace.
Gracie Tate and Destanee Morgan both contributed eight digs and four kills. Madi Wilson totaled three kills and one dig. Bailee Lubben chipped in with five digs. Faith Latham had two digs and Bree McGarigle ended with one kill.
On Monday (Sept. 18), Heritage fell just short in a match at Chrisman. The Hawks were not able to secure the match point in the second set (leading 24-22) and wound up on the short end of an 18-25, 26-24, 25-21 decision.
Heritage also held an 18-15 lead in the third set.
Roland accumulated 37 assists, Montgomery recorded 25 digs and the duo of Loran Tate and Miller combined for 24 kills.
Tate landed 15 kills and Miller ended with nine.
Heritage (11-7-2) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 21) at Blue Ridge, in Farmer City.
