Roland wins Heritage Invitational

Heritage freshman Clark Roland was the individual winner in the Heritage Boys’ Cross-Country Invitational at Homer Lake on Tuesday (Sept. 19).
Roland’s 5-kilometer time was 18 minutes, 17.2 seconds. He had a 2.6-second margin over the second-place runner.
Paris captured team honors in the five-school field with 24 points. Heritage had 31 points and was the runner-up.
The Hawks’ other scoring runners were Aidan Ashbrook (fifth in 19:28.9), Cohen Sands (eighth in 20:08.4), Hunter Montgomery (10th in 20:28.5) and Eli Denmark-Collins (11th in 21:17.6).
In the girls’ portion of the meet, the lone Heritage runner was Lillian Montgomery. She finished the 5-kilometer course in 23:57.0 and ended in fifth place.
Heritage will return to action on Thursday (Sept. 28) at Monticello.
