Heritage basketball wins home opener

The Heritage eighth-grade junior high girls’ basketball team won their home-opener on Monday (Sept 25), overpowering Rossville-Alvin, 33-16, in Homer.
Kaylee Junglas netted a game-high 18 points. Kalyn Miller scored seven points and Reaghan Stierwalt hit four points. Both Violet Chesnut and Peyton Curry-Varner contributed two points.
On Thursday (Sept. 21), the eighth-graders dropped a 51-11 decision at Gifford/Armstrong-Potomac.
Curry-Varner scored four points. Chesnut, Junglas and Leah DelRossi chipped in with two points apiece. Reaghan Stierwalt added a free throw.
The Heritage seventh-graders also boast a 2-1 season record after earning a 20-16 win at home over Rossville-Alvin.
Junglas swished 12 points. Addison Fleming had six points and Scarlett Eslinger finished with two points.
The seventh-graders dropped a 46-11 decision at Gifford/Armstrong-Potomac. Junglas scored all 11 of her team’s points.
Heritage returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 28) at Westville in a game to be played in Homer.
