St. Joseph opens basketball season with win

The St. Joseph Panthers eighth-grade team opened the junior high girls’ basketball season on Thursday (Sept. 21) at home with a 23-7 triumph over Tuscola.

Ainsley Dirksmeyer led the way, scoring 10 points. Megan Kearney contributed five points and Brooklyn Stevens chipped in with four points.

St. Joseph (1-0) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 28) at Paris Mayo.
