Heritage Volleyball sweeps Okaw Valley

Lilli Montgomery recorded 16 digs and Mary Roland totaled 15 assists on Thursday (Sept. 28) as the Heritage volleyball team continued its winning ways with a sweep at home over Okaw Valley, 25-17, 25-17.
Gracie Tate had five kills, Riley Miller had four kills and Loran Tate had four kills to spark the offensive attack.
Gracie Tate registered 11 digs, Loran Tate had four digs and Roland finished with three assists. Miller ended with one block.
Third-seeded Heritage (15-7-2) returns to action on Monday (Oct. 2) at home in the Lincoln Prairie Conference Tournament against sixth-seeded Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond and 11th-seeded Tri-County.
On Saturday (Sept. 30), the Heritage junior varsity team (13-9) record won three of four matches to finish second in the eight-school Judah Christian Tournament in Champaign.
Heritage lost to Cornerstone Christian (25-18, 18-25, 17-15) and Judah (25-21, 25-16), but defeated Cornerstone Christian (20-25, 25-15, 15-10) and Cerro Gordo/Bement (20-25, 27-25, 15-12) in the third-place match.
