The Heritage seventh-grade girls’ basketball team made a valiant second-half effort on Thursday (Sept. 28), but fell short at home against Westville, 37-22.
Westville led, 27-4 at halftime, but Heritage outscored the visitors thereafter, 18-10, and cut the deficit to single digits.
The Heritage eighth-graders also dropped a decision to Westville, 30-18.
The eighth-graders also mounted a late-game rally, bouncing back from a 25-8 fourth-quarter deficit by scoring 10 of the game’s next 15 points.
Both Heritage teams are 2-2 overall and return to action on Thursday (Oct. 5) at Arcola.
