Mustangs remain unbeaten through six games

Prairieview Ogden’s eighth-grade girls’ basketball team added four more wins to its unbeaten start to the season.
PVO toppled Hoopeston Area, 35-17, in Hoopeston on Monday (Sept. 25), Bismarck-Henning, 40-22, in a home game in Flatville on Tuesday (Sept. 26), Salt Fork, 39-17, in a road game on Thursday (Sept. 28) and then topped Champaign International Prep Academy, 38-23, on Monday (Oct. 2).
Against Hoopeston, Atleigh Millet scored 15 points. Teammates Greta Goldenstein and Korrine Travis each contributed six points.
Against B-H, Miller led the way with 16 points. Kellyn Irwin netted seven points.
Against Salt Fork, Miller (16 points) and Goldenstein (five points) were the top scorers.
Against International Prep Academy, Makayla Hesterberg tallied a season-high 11 points. Miller notched 10 points.
The Mustangs’ eighth-graders are 6-0 and return to action on Thursday (Oct. 5) at Oakwood.

The PVO seventh-graders have a 3-3 record after defeating Hoopeston Area, 23-20, and Champaign International Prep Academy, 28-12, and then losing to Bismarck-Henning, 24-12, and Salt Fork, 31-12.
Against Hoopeston, Ella Mohr netted 11 points. Kolbie Busboom and Allie Bolt each added four points.
Against B-H, Busboom led the way with six points. Makala Wisehart tallied four points.
Against Salt Fork, Mohr scored six points and Sydney Abernathy chipped in with four points.
Against International Prep Academy, Mohr produced her top scoring output of the season with 13 points. Kelsie Harms and Kolbie Busboom each contributed four points.
