Franzen finishes third at Conference meet

Savanna Franzen finished third individually for St. Joseph-Ogden’s girls’ cross-country team in the Illini Prairie Conference meet on Tuesday (Oct. 3) at Chillicothe IVC.
Franzen ran the 3-mile course in 19 minutes, 24.10 seconds.
Chloe Burkhalter placed eighth (20:34.90).
Other SJ-O competitors were Sydney Steinbach (35th in 24:58.60), Kiah Riesel (41st in 25:41.10) and Hannah Mock (42nd in 26:10.80).
There were 57 runners in the varsity race.
In the team chase, Tolono Unity emerged victorious with a score of 18 points. Runner-up St. Thomas More had 74 points and was followed by Monticello (106 points) and SJ-O (118 points) in the seven-team invitational.
SJ-O will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 14) in the Patroit Invitational at Detweiller Park, in Peoria.
