Franzen places 15th at Patriot Invitational

St. Joseph-Ogden junior Savanna Franzen ran 15th on Saturday (Oct. 14) in the 26-school Patroit Invitational girls’ cross-country meet at Peoria’s Detweiller Park.
Franzen’s 3-mile time was 19:00.70.
SJ-O didn’t have enough runners to be scored as a team.
The Spartans’ other competitors in a 255-runner race were senior Chloe Burkhalter (38th in 19:55.10), freshman Kiah Riesel (155th in 22:59.60) and sophomore Hannah Mock (165th in 23:14.10).
Team honors in the girls’ varsity race were captured by Tolono Unity with 44 points. Runner-up Delavan had 122 points and was followed by Pleasant Plains with 249 points.
SJ-O will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 21) in a 19-school Class 1A sectional at Chrisman.
