SJ-O soccer to play for Regional Championship

St. Joseph-Ogden’s eighth shutout of the soccer season came on Saturday (Oct. 14) in the semifinals of the St. Anne Class 1A Regional, a 9-0 verdict over Clifton Central.
Alex Acosta’s fourth hat trick of the season sparked the Spartans. It was the 14th hat trick of the season for SJ-O.
Besides Acosta’s three goals, SJ-O received two goals each from Tyler Hess, Logan Mills and Spencer Wilson.
Wilson accumulated two assists as did Zach Harper. Teammates Acosta and Will Besson ended with one assist apiece.
Goalkeeper Jaxson Colvin finished with three saves.
SJ-O (16-7) faces Oakwood/Salt Fork (16-7-1) in the regional championship match on Tuesday (Oct. 17) at 7 p.m. When the schools played in the regular season, the Comets prevailed, 5-1.
