Junior Thomas Wells placed 70th on Saturday (Oct. 28) in the 21-school IHSA Decatur Class 1A Sectional cross-country meet and did not qualify for the state finals.
Wells ran the 3-mile course in 17 minutes, 41.52 seconds. He was the Comets’ only participant in the 157-runner sectional field.
The team leaders in the sectional, held at South Shores Park, were Tuscola (74 points), St. Joseph-Ogden (89 points) and La Salette (137 points).
