Savanna Franzen finishes 42nd at IHSA State Meet

St. Joseph-Ogden junior Savanna Franzen finished 42^nd in the girls’ Class 1A IHSA cross-country state meet on Saturday (Nov. 4) at Detweiller Park, in Peoria.

Franzen covered the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 40.79 seconds. There were 258 finishers in the race.

One Spartan teammate joined her at state. Senior Chloe Burkhalter took 88^th in 19:25.79.

The team champion for the third year in a row was Tolono Unity (109 points) followed by Anna-Jonesboro (157 points), Peoria Notre Dame (224 points) and Eureka (231 points).

There were 30 full teams at state.
