Dirksmeyer leads Panthers over Villa Grove

Ainsley Dirksmeyer scored a season-high 16 points on Monday (Nov. 6) as the St. Joseph Junior High eighth-grade girls’ basketball team won its fifth consecutive game.
The Panthers handed Villa Grove a 31-19 loss.
Avery Lappin tallied six points and Addison Knight finished with four points in the game at Villa Grove. Avery Haley and Megan Kearney both chipped in with two points and Lyla Patton added a free throw.
On Thursday (Nov. 2), Kearney hit a team-high nine points as the Panther eighth-graders topped Tolono Unity, 28-11, at home.
Patton and Brooklyn Stevens each scored five points. Dirksmeyer added four points, Lappin chipped in with three points and Ava Alexander finished with two points.
St. Joseph’s eighth-graders have an overall record of 11-8.
