The St. Joseph Junior High eighth-grade girls’ basketball team dropped a 26-21 overtime decision at Bismarck-Henning in their regular-season finale on Tuesday (Nov. 7).
Ainsley Dirksmeyer and Brooklyn Stevens shared team scoring honors with five points apiece. Lyla Patton netted four points and Megan Kearney hit three points. Finishing with two points each were Ava Alexander and Avery Lappin.
The Panthers take an overall record of 11-9 into the postseason. Second-seeded St. Joseph will take on either third-seeded Westville or sixth-seeded Paxton-Buckley-Loda in an IESA Class 3A semifinal game on Monday (Nov. 20) at Hoopeston.
St. Joseph defeated both possible opponents in the regular season.
