Heritage basketball defeats Arcola

Cameron Johnson poured in 27 points on Saturday (Nov. 18) as the Heritage eighth-grade boys’ basketball team won at Arcola, 43-39.
Landin McComas contributed eight points and DaKarai Hill chipped in with six points. Colby Schrock scored two points.
On Thursday (Nov. 16), Gifford snapped a two-game winning streak by Heritage in an eighth-grade boys’ basketball game at home, 36-19.
Cameron Johnson led Heritage with 10 points. Teammates who reached the scoring column were Landin McComas (four points), DaKarai Hill (three points) and Christian Paul (two points).
On Monday (Nov. 20), Johnson tallied a game-high 15 points in a 38-28 loss at Westville. Hill hit six points, McComas had four and Paul ended with three.
The eighth-graders are 4-3.

The Heritage seventh-graders are still seeking their first win after Gifford scored a 52-10 victory in Homer and Arcola posted a 39-18 win at home.
Joao Vega hit a team-high eight points. Russell High added two points.
Against Arcola, Vega notched 11 points and Bryson Warren netted three points. Finishing with two points apiece were Nathan Bonilla and George.
On Monday (Nov. 20), Vega’s nine points led Heritage in a 29-18 setback at Westville. George connected for four points and Warren netted three points. Bonilla contributed two points.
The seventh-graders are 0-7.
Heritage returns to action on Thursday (Nov. 30) at home against Hoopeston Area.
