Mustangs to face St. Malachy in IESA Regional Championship

Prairieview Ogden’s eighth-grade girls’ basketball team moved into the championship game of the IESA Class 1A Rantoul St. Malachy Regional with a 30-20 semifinal win on Monday (Nov. 20) against Schlarman Academy.
Atleigh Miller totaled 14 points. Bella Frerichs counted six points.
Top-seeded PVO (18-3) faces third-seeded St. Malachy on Wednesday (Nov. 22) at 5:30 p.m. at St. Malachy.

The PVO seventh-graders dropped a 31-22 decision to second-seeded Cissna Park in a semifinal game of the Milford IESA Class 1A Regional. PVO was the regional’s No. 3 seed.
Sydney Abernathy totaled eight points and Kolbie Busboom ended with seven points for PVO.
The Mustangs finished the season with a 13-9 overall record.
For the year, Ella Mohr led or shared the team in scoring in 14 games. Abernathy led in five games, Busboom in four games and Kelsie Harms in one.
