Hawks pick up first win of the season over Urbana Uni High

Rylan White’s season-high 23 points provided a spark for Heritage, which captured its first win of the boys’ basketball season, 53-41, over Urbana Uni High on Saturday (Nov. 25) in the 11th-place game of the Cerro Gordo/Bement Thanksgiving Tournament.
Heritage led, 11-6, after one quarter and 24-14 at halftime.
White nailed three three-point shots.
Destin Nickle tossed in 15 points and Brennan Struck added eight points. Jacob Bensyl contributed three points. Netting two points apiece were James Dillon and Clark Roland.
On Friday (Nov. 24), Nickle and White each totaled eight points for Heritage, which was limited to two second-half points, and lost to Arthur Okaw, 75-24.
Anthony Happ added six points and Bensyl ended with two points.
Happ and White swished two three-point shots apiece.
On Wednesday (Nov. 22), White scored a team-high eight points for Heritage in a 96-24 loss to Warrensburg-Latham.
Bensyl totaled five points for the Hawks, who also received four points from Nickle. The team’s other point-makers were Struck (three points), Happ (two points) and Roland (two points).
Heritage (1-3) returns to action on Tuesday (Nov. 28) at home against Normal University High School.
