Maroa-Forsyth comes back to defeat St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball

St. Joseph-Ogden couldn’t hold onto a fourth-quarter lead on Monday (Dec. 4) and suffered a 75-63 loss at Maroa-Forsyth.
The Spartans led, 59-56, after three quarters. SJ-O shot its only two free throws (by Katie Ericksen) in the first half. Maros-Forsyth connected on 13-of-16 second-half free throws.
Addy Martinie led the Spartans with 17 points. Sara Kearney connected for a season-high 16 points. Addison Frick contributed 12 points thanks to sinking four three-point shots.
Ericksen finished with 11 points. Timera Blackburn-Kelley scored four points and Addison Brooks nailed a three-pointer to account for her three points.
The Spartans made nine three-pointers. Martinie netted three three-point shots and Ericksen hit one basket from long distance.
SJ-O (2-3) returns to action on Thursday (Dec.7) at home against Teutopolis.
